This is a charming sequel to the author's first book, "At The Table With The Family", recollections and vignettes of his boyhood in the Philippines and includes his transition as an expatriate in the U.S. as teacher, professor and Exchange Fellow in various assignments abroad. The book is dedicated to his "spirited contemporaries of younger days" which seems to bode well for youthful mis-adventures all readers can share. The publisher notes that "there are insightful stories expecially for those dealing with some of the issues and consequences of intersecting cultures."

The illustrations like those in the first "Table..." book are charming and well executed. Family photos always provide the necessary guide to who's who in the text.
